Falleció en Madrid el 10 de marzo de 1947. Su padre, Pedro Artigas Pérez, fue secretario de Blesa, [[Cella]] y [[Villarquemado]]. <br /> <br /> Miguel Artigas se licenció en Filosofía y Letras en Madrid en 1910. Fue nombrado director de la Biblioteca Menéndez Pelayo de Santander, donde iniciaría los cursos para extranjeros cnovertidos hoy en día en la Universidad Internacional de verano.<br /> <br /> En 1930 fue nombrado director de la Biblioteca Nacional, cargo que ejerció hasta el final de su vida.
